Virginia high school records 1,000 students out with flu

Nearly 1,000 students at a large Virginia high school were absent this week with a flu-like illness.

A widespread illness at Stafford High School outside Washington, DC has prompted the school to cancel all weekend activities and athletics. Friday posting on his Facebook page.

“Due to the high number of student and staff illnesses reported this week, all activities and scheduled athletics at Stafford High School have been canceled through Sunday, October 23rd,” the post read.

“We will reassess conditions on Monday and provide you with more information.”
