Traveling by plane to Prague with your dog
Prague is a place that every dog and human would love. And going there is a reason why there is a need to train dogs to travel. Flying from one place to another with your dog is sometimes necessary. That being said, dogs must be able to adapt to movement, travel and transport.
What happens if you have to travel by air with your dog to a city like Prague? It won’t be a problem if your dog is used to it. But what if this is the first time he’s ever done it? You may encounter difficulties that you did not expect otherwise.
There are reasons why dog owners should fly with their dogs. One of the main reasons is the need to relocate. If the owner will be moving homes from one state to another, then it is normal to take their dogs with them. But then, if the dog doesn’t like to travel or is seasick, then a lot of things have to be worked out first.
Another reason is vacation. Dogs are part of the family. If the whole gang goes on holiday, the kids won’t like it if the dogs are left behind. So parents usually have no choice but to take the dog with them. And if they’re going to a faraway vacation destination like Prague, the dog needs to be ready.
Another reason, although rare, is the need for the dog to participate in dog shows and events in different cities. Sometimes it even takes place outside the country. Trained dogs are wanted everywhere. But because they are intelligent in their own right, they can easily be trained to love flying.
Traveling by air with a dog won’t be easy. Airlines have established rules regarding allowing pets on board. Owners have only two choices. It’s either the cabin or the cargo. Sometimes only small dogs are allowed in the cabin and they must be in a crate. These carriers must also meet airline standards.
Being in cargo, on the other hand, is a different story. If your dog is too large to fit on an airline, then cargo is the only other option. Cargo is an area on the plane where passengers cannot pass. This is a restricted area so owners cannot check their dogs. It is also a large, dark place where luggage is placed.
But if your budget allows it, you can by all means board an airline that allows dogs of all breeds and sizes in the cabin. They only have a few special requirements like leashes and seat belts. This might be a good option, but it won’t be cheap. A one-way trip to Prague can cost thousands of dollars.
It is only hoped that commercial airlines will allow dogs on their planes under better conditions than what is already done today. An area specifically designed just for dogs and pets where owners can enter freely is ideal.
While this is still a dog owner’s dream, it may not be too far from a reality. One day it might happen. It’s a matter of time.
