Mars dust won’t bury the Perseverance rover’s rock sampling tubes

Neither the dust nor the wind nor the darkness of the night will disturb the new caches of precious samples of Mars on the Red Planet.

This month, that of NASA Perseverance Rover has been going down in the form of a lightsaber caches of material on the surface of March stand by as a backup for a future sample return mission. Perseverance collects two samples at each location and carries a set. If the rover cannot carry the samples in its belly to a standby spacecraft, two pickup helicopters in the 2030s, it will load safety surface tubes onto the return rocket.
