Learn more about American Bullies, the line of dogs that descended from the American Pit Bull
American Bullies are a new style of dog that is descended from the American Pit Bull Terrier. These dogs have their own registry which is called ABKC. American Bullies are bred from American Pit Bull Terriers for line breeding for a specific look, temperament and structure. These dogs are shorter, wider and have larger heads than the older lines of American Pit Bulls. The two main bloodlines that gave rise to American Bullies are the Gray Line (California) and the Razor (Virginia). A bloodline is created by breeding two lines of dogs to create your own line.
This is done by inbreeding, line breeding and making crosses when necessary. Some of the main dogs that produced American bullies are Cairo, Throwin Knuckles, Shortshot, Buckshot and Jewels. These are all Razors edge dogs and are in almost every line of Razors edge dogs you see today. Another line of American Bullies is the Greyline. These dogs were bred by Blue Star kennels. A couple of their main dogs are Raider 2 and Brianna Blue Good. Blue Star Kennels also breed Juan Gotti.
He is considered America’s most famous bully and is the foundation dog of Gottyline. He has over 800 offspring and is in almost every American Bully pedigree you see today. It was owned by Richard Barajas and is still bred through artificial insemination. He died in 2008 at the age of 15.
