In the nineteenth century, dog breeders in England, Ireland and Scotland began experimenting by crossing bulldogs and terriers, looking for a dog that combined the playful nature of a terrier with the strength and muscularity of a bulldog.
The end result was a wonderful dog that inherited all the fine qualities of strength, invincible courage, gentleness and vigor at the same time. The Pit Bull breed also includes various sub-breeds such as the American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Terrier, Bull Terrier and other mixed breeds.
Migrants brought these bull terrier hybrids to the United States. The American Pit Bull’s many talents have not gone unnoticed by farmers and ranchers, who have used them as draft dogs to herd cattle and hogs, for hunting, and even as family companions. Since then, the Pit Bull has continued to demonstrate its competence quite remarkably in obedience, rally obedience, tracking, agility, baiting, dock jumping and weight pulling.
Among the many varieties of them, the blue-nosed pit bull is considered the deadliest. Bluenose, as the name suggests, has a blue color on the nose, which can be bluish gray or a shade of diluted blue. The blue coloring of the nose is only a feature. Rare coloring features increase the dog’s monetary value. This is a simple trait that occurs in all types of these dogs. However, the color of the nose has nothing to do with the breed of the dog.
Many people just think of them as guard dogs. Although they are known for showing fierce loyalty to their owners, they are naturally friendly, even with strangers. These dogs can be trained as guard dogs, but only when the training is done by a professional.
Although it is simply part of their nature to be less friendly than other family dogs, this characteristic can be managed with proper training and a loving and caring environment. Because of their high energy levels, these dogs need to be sociable when young. So if you are locked up with a pit bull in a closed apartment, this can only mean trouble. These dogs love vigorous activities and should be treated accordingly.
But when the environment provokes aggression, it is a completely different story. When you have introduced a new dog into an aggressive or distressing situation, this may be the reason for his sudden violence towards people and other animals. If trained properly, these dogs can make a good American pet.
