Do you know how to make children lead a healthy lifestyle?

How to get kids to lead a healthy lifestyle is something that many parents struggle with.

When you first start feeding your baby solids, you have the best of intentions. I know, I remember buying fresh vegetables and making my own homemade baby food.

However, the story more or less ends here. Slowly but surely, as more children came along, processed meals and fast foods began to creep into my children’s diet. Before I knew it, what seemed like a perfectly healthy lifestyle for our newborn turned into an unhealthy regimen for our three children.

Does all of this sound familiar? I’m here to tell you that there’s a lot you can do about it. I will share some of my best tips with you today in the rest of this article.

Tip 1 – How to gradually change what you feed your children

There are two rules to follow here.

The first is to avoid giving your children processed convenience food. Instead, what you should do is go back to the basics and cook for yourself at home.

Second, you need to manage the change process by making it fun, exciting and rewarding. If you don’t do this, you’ll find it nearly impossible to quickly change your children’s eating habits.

Let me give you an example of what I mean. Pizzas can be healthy and fun for kids if you make your own. The prep time is just ten minutes and your kids will love the fact that you get them involved in the cooking.

Tip 2 – Get your kids to play sports.

Exercise is essential to a healthier lifestyle. To convince your children to start playing sports, you will again need to encourage them with fun activities that will make them rewarding to begin with.

The best example of this in practice that I can give you is what has worked well for us as a family, although I wouldn’t recommend it to everyone!

We recently bought a Labrador puppy that we named Riley. The effect Riley had was to make all our children extremely enthusiastic about going for walks twice a day and even more so on the weekends!
