I usually prefer small, quiet, dimly lit restaurants where I can relax and have a quiet conversation with my wife and/or guests, but the food and service are so good at this Buca di Beppo that whenever I’m craving southern Italian food, this is the place I choose. Plus, my wife and I can have two to several guests, treat ourselves and not break the bank. At first glance, the portion prices seem quite high, but each portion can feed two to three people with enough food for our guests to take home. Our biggest problem is deciding which entrees to order. Everyone is so nice. Note: This is an extremely good place to hold a birthday or office function.
If it’s just the two of you, you might try eating on their rather small patio and get some people watching, or you might want to eat at their kitchen table that seats up to six, which is of course in the kitchen. This is a very popular table and almost impossible to get without a reservation.
This restaurant is located at 80 West Green Street, Pasadena, CA 91105 at the corner of DeLacy and Green Streets, cat corner from Twin Palms Restaurant and at the edge of Pasadena’s Old Town area. There isn’t much street parking, but there is a large parking garage on Delacy between Twin Palms and JJ Steak House restaurants. After you’ve had your fill, you might consider it a good idea to walk off that food with a walk around the Old Town. The Old Town district has plenty to see and do. Visit the boutiques and shops, browse an art gallery, watch a movie, go dancing at one of the nightclubs, watch everyone else, or if you manage to work off some calories, have a coffee and pastry at one of the sidewalk restaurants or bakeries.
