Barbados travel hotels – tips and more
People planning a vacation to beautiful Barbados for the first time are usually more worried than excited. Apart from the fact that it will be an unfamiliar place, they are too agonizingly worried about the money they will have to spend to enjoy the thrill of the anticipated excitement of going there. Fortunately, there are always travel secrets to all the vacation hot spots around the world. This article will provide a range of useful information and advice to help anyone plan and enjoy a trip to one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean.
Money and price of goods. The currency in Barbados is the Bajan or Barbadian dollar and is equal to US$1.98. Guide yourself accordingly: the items and services here are not cheap and are almost equal to their prices in America.
Travel. On arrival at the island’s airport, simply walk out of the terminal with luggage in hand to the buses, taxis and shuttles lined up outside. The easiest way is to pre-arrange shuttle services to and from the chosen hotel. Taxis can cost $20-60 depending on how far the destination is, and shuttles will charge $5 (don’t pay more than that) for surf bags and other larger items. If you prefer a rental car, keep in mind that it will cost around $50-60 per day. Remember that the steering wheel is on the “wrong side” of the car.
a dress. Don’t think that just because it’s a beach paradise, you can wear your swimsuit everywhere all day long. Swimsuits are reserved for beaches and beach bars. Casual clothing is the preferred, appropriate attire in most places here, except at night or in the evenings. It would be best if the material of the clothes is light and “airy”.
Barbados Tourist Hotels. There is a wide range of hotels and other accommodation on the island. The crux of the matter is how much money will be willingly spent on one. A popular choice, of course, is the cheaper accommodation available. Budget hotels are usually nice enough and have three stars. The staff is guaranteed to be warm, welcoming and helpful. There are some that will have a pristine beach out front that customers can comfortably enjoy. Like most of these budget hotels, everything is all inclusive. This means all meals, drinks, gratuities and non-motorized sports are part of the deal.
It would be interesting to note that breakfast and lunch are served buffet style and light breakfast is also conveniently served in between. People can choose to have their dinner at a buffet or a 5-course meal in the dining room, which of course requires advance booking. Hotel staff will inform guests whether their dining room is booked or not and allow guests to log in and see if there are any cancellations during the day.
Here are some other notable travel tips:
(1) check the weather before each trip so you have an idea of what to take and how to pack;
(2) use traveler’s checks, if available. If they are somehow lost or stolen, remember that they can still usually be replaced within 24 hours almost anywhere in the world by most banks and service outlets;
(3) never leave valuables at the hotel unless a safe is requested;
(4) refrain from using the phone in the hotel room because they can be extremely expensive. It is better to use a mobile phone or calling card.
